Why Your System Clings to the negative patterns & how to release them!

As a Specialist in Nervous System Recalibration, my work focuses on the intersection of somatic awareness and deep subconscious shifting. I help individuals move beyond the "bracing" patterns of the past to inhabit a body that feels like a safe and spaciousness in the body and mind!

Through a structured approach to RTT® Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP-IFS, and Somatic Counseling, we don't just talk about change; we create the physiological conditions for it.

When you begin this process, you arrive with a deep desire for change.

You want the panic, the fear, and the hyper-vigilance to stop. But when the shift actually happens and that peace finally arrives, something strange often occurs: your internal world starts to pull back and resist.

This is exactly why the work requires 2 to 3 full sessions to integrate.

We aren't just "fixing" a problem; we are clearing out an old way of existing, and that takes time for your body to accept.

Understanding the Internal Tug-of-War

In our work together at Somatics-Embodied, we are asking long-standing "parts" of your psyche to retire. These parts have occupied space for decades. Even if they caused you pain, they were familiar. When they leave, it creates a void and the nervous system hates a void.

  • The "Retirement" of the Panic Part: When a part of you that has lived in hyper-vigilance is finally done, your subconscious might process this as a departure. It isn't a literal end; it is a signal that the job of panic is finished.

  • Grief as a Proxy for Change: You might find yourself feeling a sense of loss as the old patterns leave. This is the ego’s natural resistance. Your system is grieving the loss of a "known" because it doesn't yet know who you are without the fear to manage.

  • The Secondary Gain: Even painful patterns provide a familiar internal "noise." Without that noise, you are left in a silence that can feel scary at first. This is why we often try to "recruit" the old fear back just to feel like ourselves again.

Expanding Your Capacity for Ease

The shift you feel after a session isn't just a "good feeling of well being" it is the baseline of your actual nature. However, because your nervous system has been "bracing" for decades, this new space might feel foreign. Your system might try to pull you back toward the old tension simply because it knows how to survive there.

This isn't a failure; it’s biological momentum. The work now isn't about forcing yourself to "be calm" it’s about building the capacity to let your guard down without feeling like you’re losing your protection.

How to Integrate the Shift

To stay in the calm and refuse the old familiar traps, you can practice these somatic anchors:

  • Acknowledge the Quiet: If you feel a sense of "spaciousness" where a part of tension used to be, don't rush to fill it with a worry.

  • Tell your system: The weight, the burden is gone, and I am still here. I am safe in the spaciousness.”

  • Track the Texture of the "New": Notice the physical sensations of ease. Is it a coolness? A lightness?

  • A softness in your jaw? If it feels "weird," remind your body: “This isn't dangerous; it’s just new. I am learning the language of rest.”

  • Honor the Resistance: If you feel a sudden urge to "check corners" or anticipate a problem, don't judge it.

  • That is your old survival skill trying to be helpful. Silently say to that impulse: Thank you for looking out for me, but I am not in a storm right now. We can stand down.”

Why the Second and Third Session Matter

The first session moves the mountain; the subsequent sessions are where we teach you how to live in the new landscape.

We address the "void" that opens up when hyper-vigilance leaves and ensure your system understands that autonomy is safer than bracing. We process the grief of the "old self" so you don't slip back into old patterns just because they feel familiar.

If you truly want to live free from chronic fear and panic, you must embrace this unfamiliar peace. We are moving from a Survival Tactic to a Somatic Choice. You aren't surrendering; you are finally taking the lead.
