The Rules of the Mind:

Updated: 3 days ago

Your mind is an obedient, listening ecosystem. Every thought, word, and image acts as an instruction manual that your subconscious works tirelessly to make real.

When old patterns, like anxiety, seeking relief in wine, or over-researching solutions, take over, they are simply surface-level programs responding to deeper internal narratives.

True, lasting transformation happens when you stop fighting your biology and begin consciously programming it through clarity, repetition, images, and emotion.

The 7 Rules of the Mind

  1. Your Mind Does What It Thinks You Want It To Do: It acts directly on your intentions and instructions, whether conscious or unconscious.

  2. Your Mind Is Driven to Move Toward Pleasure and Away From Pain: A primal survival mechanism that explains why we reach for quick comfort (like wine or scrolling) when emotional discomfort arises.

  3. Your Mind Responds Only to Pictures and Words: Imagination and language are the primary dialects of your subconscious.

  4. Your Mind Loves What Is Familiar and Resists What Is Unfamiliar: It views the unknown as unsafe simply because it is new, which is why stepping out of your comfort zone requires conscious reassurance.

  5. Your Mind Does Not Care If What You Tell It Is True or False: It treats your repeated internal narratives and worries ("Who will hire someone at 52?") as absolute fact.

  6. Your Mind Responds to Repetition: New neural pathways are carved through consistency, not occasional effort.

  7. You Make Your Beliefs, and Then Your Beliefs Make You: What you accept as true shapes every choice, feeling, and outcome that follows.

How can you change your life today, by utilising and incorpoarting these powerfulerl rules.

Reflection

  • "Which beliefs have been installed that shape your life?"

  • "Which new beliefs do I want to step into today?"

Reflection Questions:

  • What programs or patterns have I been running that I am ready to switch off?

  • What positive changes or outcomes do I want to begin installing?

  • What do I resist because it feels unfamiliar?

  • What do I return to simply because it feels familiar?

  • What words, encouragement, or praise do I want to give myself

  • Write down one old belief to release and one new belief to adopt!
